Not sure where exactly to put this, but for some reason, when I took my key out of my pocket today (note: standard switchblade/flip-out key w/ alarm, lock/un-lock, trunk buttons) it was open, and wouldn't close. It it able to bend back in fourth by holding the button down, but it won't close, it just stays in the straight position. I did notice last week there was some semi-heavy lint/dirt/residue/gunk hanging around the key blade, but I cleaned it and it didn't seem to cause a problem until now. Am I SOL or what? The feeling of a sharp object jabbing your inner-thigh is getting annoying!

 

Take it to the dealer you should still be under warranty and they should fix or replace it. Mine had button issues and they got me completly new keys and reprogramed them and everything no cost. Only thing I had was the time to go in and wait the hour it took to get the computer up to do the reprogram that took 5 min. If you don't have problems with the dealer service and the key does not show alot of wear chances are the will fix or replace.
