Measuring oil level
I have owned many cars over the years and the proper way to check oil level is when the engine is cold and all the oil is in the crankcase.
In the Audi A3 TDI manual it says to warm up the engine and then turn it off and wait 2 minutes to check the oil level.
Can someone explain the reasoning behind this?
