Howdy,

On the 405 this morning and the Min Oil message came up. I'm about 2,500 from the 15k service. Can I add (Mobil 1 0w-40) or should I just get an oil change? Last oil change was 4,000 miles ago.
How many miles can/should I drive with the Min Oil message on? I know its best to get it checked asap, but will I be ok for about 15-20 miles? Thanks everyone.

And keep a quart in your car. My oil light came on the other night around midnight....and I was 30 miles from home! [:@]

 

Haven't run into the oil light problem. But I do check it every 3 tank. In 13000 miles I have only added 1/4 of a quart. But I do keep a quart of Castrol Syntec 5w-40 next to the spare tire. BE PREPARED thats my moto

 

Thank you all. I changed the oil instead of topping it off. Is it bad to mix 5w-30 and 5w-40 together? I saw a S5 on the 405 this morning. Wow.
