Default The MPH A3s get

Am curious what kind of MPG folks are getting with their A3's....both 2.0T and 3.2 S

Given gas costs a lot these days, it would be useful knowing what down-road xpenses might be.

i dont know the exact numbers, but the 2.0T would def get more mileage as it has a smaller turbocharged engine... prob like mid to high 20s combined id think
i know my 2.8 gets about 18.3 combined, different car and engine, but thats close enough to a 3.2...

My current car with 200 Hp V6 manages 24-25 mph average (32 best on Hwy).
I would hope the 2.0 T can do better, especially since Audis need premium gas.
But maybe I am unrealistic asking about MPG as most people buy Audis for sport driving?

i'm getting about 24 mpg with my A3 2.0, but i rarely use the freeway and i'm ALWAYS going higher than 3000 rpm and STILL getting 24 mph, if i drove the speed limit and not rev my car so much, i'm pretty sure i can get at least 26 mpg. what car do you have?

A -- gasp - '04 Malibu Maxx, based on Opel/Saab chassis and using a -- gasp -- OHV iron block V6.

I was originally attracted to A3 because of Quattro: 3.2 handled well, had nice interior touches, but $40K is too much for an Audi-ized VW R32.

The 2.0T, sounds nice, though I'm waiting for Audi to sort the DSG out a bit more. I may jump in near end of '06 if A3 does well with JDPower.

Got the 3.2 and I get about 18mpg and the wife can get about 23ish mpg. She's got much lighter foot then I do. I guess that's what happens when I use the gas pedal as an on/off switch. Nothing in between....

I've got nearly 5k on the car and average 23-24mpg in very mixed LA driving. I have a heavy foot and the mileage doesn't ever drop below 21mpg, even when I'm racing it through the entire tank. I'm sure that I could get in the upper 20's if I had a lighter foot and in non-congested mixed driving. The mileage has gotten better as the motor is broken in so please be aware that the first 1k - 2k miles will be much lower.

It's a great car and I don't mind that I traded in a 45mpg TDI for the A3.

Cheers!

Chef......

you chipped it yet or not? i found out that if you take it to the dealer for routine maintanance, they're not using the best oil out there, they're using valvoline 5w-40 synthetic, i took it to an audi mechanic today for my 10K main, he said that you should use Mobile1 5W-40. so next time you're taking it to the dealer, let them do their thing (for free) then take it home and change the oil again yourself.

Chip, Chip, Chipperee!

I just got back from the Eurocode Tuning shop and my car has a new set of Juevos, I mean Revo and not a pair of sunglasses.

The damn car is so amazing it's scary. I'm very impressed with the additional horses, but the torque is freakin awesome!!! Now I don't miss my TDI at all. I'll let you know more as I continue to drive it, since I've only done the test run and about 5 additional miles so far. I did smell a lot of Pirelli when I got home though

When the GReddy exhaust is ready and installed on the car, watchout!

Cheers!
