Default Multimedia interface installer for Navigation?

So i checked out this website where I can get the harness to hook up a dvd player to my navi.

http://www.navparts.com/shop/product...roducts_id=169

Seemed simple enough until i checked out all the forums and started running into GALA wires, CANs and VAG-COM stuff which is way over my head. Is this thing really plug and play?

I've also heard that the navi starts to get really slow and stops updating while you're driving if the unit is activated.

I'm in Los Angeles and the only guys I know of are Eurocode Tuning (They chipped my car).

They're great but they never answer their phone or return emails. Does anyone have an idiot's guide with pictures of this or can you direct me to a shop that can install it for me?

THis forum rocks by the way.

I believe you need Dietz 1417 and Dietz 1280 (video in motion adapter).

Some links I found:
