Default My first mod.. a stereo

My setup will be similar to the link below. I really like the Audi Emblem cutout for the amp ventilation. MAccar in City of Industry has my car now and they will have it ready next Wednesday. They say they can replicate the audi ring symbol for the ventilation holes but it's not cheap($400).
I am told that 9855 (500 color) head unit isnt available. So I got an 9885. I dont know if it can change colors. The one on the floor was blue lights. I may have to live with the blue. I am putting Focal 165 KPS in the front doors only I prefer to use dynamat even though Ryan A3 didnt think it was needed. I prefer to dampen the vibrations as much as possible and seal out as much road noise as possible. They wanted $600 to do the front floors so that will have to wait. I am leaving the factory speakers in the rear doors(eventually will replace them with same focals). My main amp is DLS A4 85Watts RMS x 4. My subwoofer will be the same JL 10w6 but I am going with a JL 500/1 to run it. Full dynamat extreme in the trunk. Also getting the special devices to allow the steering wheel controls to work with the new stereo.

Thanks for adding a link that works. I spoke with Mark, the guy who installed that stereo for the A3 shown on the link. He sounds like a car stereo genuis and an installer guru and is slef employed. I bet there has to be similar proffesionals in the LA area. Anyone know of any?

I just had a 9885 installed at Best Buy in Pasadena. They did a fine job. And, the color can be changed from blue to red. Although, in direct sunlight it still has a bluish tinge to it. Let me know if you have anymore questions

Here are the front KPS and rear K2P. I ordered two sets of KPS but he says there was a shortage on KPS so he is giving me the k2p at no extra charge for the rear.
Not sure if all 4 speakers should match. My guess is they should but i hate to turn down the k2p. Maybe I shold ask him to put K2p in the front as well, or just wait until kps can be shipped. Or shold I just go with the two different sets? Dynamat is going in all 4 doors, I will report on observations of less road noise and better dampening of vibratins on teh doors. I expect to get the car bakc on Wednesday.

Is that going to leave enough airspace to keep the amps cool? Or did you go ahead and decide to have the Audi rings cut out for extra airspace?

I asked the installer about the ventillation. He said it won't be necessary. I will inquire again. I decided I can make the rings myself and save about $350 if they are necessary. I need some second opinions on the ventillation. Please advise. Also advise on the speaker setup. I ordered two sets of KPS but he says there was a shortage on KPS so he is giving me the k2p at no extra charge for the rear.
