Default Need help deciding on features (like almost immediately!)

Hi all!

So - I'm going in for an A3, but - all the packages together are out of my price-range... so I need help deciding between the following combinations!

1. DSG, Open Sky, cloth seats
3. DSG, leather seats
3. Manual S-line
4. Manual + Premium Package + Open Sky

Any help would be appreciated :P I think I'm pretty set on the DSG though :P

Best!
Scott!

Not really a question someone else can answer for you. But, I have option 2 so I'd vote for that. I live in Los Angeles, and I've heard from a lot of people that the open sky lets way too much sun in, especially in summer, and makes the car too hot. That may not be true for you if you generally park in a garage and/or live in a cooler climate. Also, i think you need leather seats to get power seats, if that is important (although that may not be true anymore).

i would also go DSG S-line leather if you can. Cloth seats for me are not even an option ever and i wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Intriguing - so you'd say the OSS isn't worth it... I guess OSS+Premium in favor of S-line would essentially run ~ the same... such things shalt be looked into! Thanks!

#3... I have the open sky and it does tend to let a lot of sun in. The s-line is a must.

Well, I say go w/ #4. That's what I have and I'm pretty pleased.

I second #4. Yes, open sky lets in a lot of sun - but, cruisin' around with it open on a nice day, makes up for it.

I live in Taipei...temps are crazy hot here! Open Sky? No problem and gives the car such a great look inside and out! I honestly would not have considered an A3 without it, by far, my favorite part of the car! You can tint the glass even darker if you really don't like the heat.

As for cloth seats, the cloth seats I saw on US-spec cars suck pretty bad...but I have cloth S-line seats and LOVE it way more than leather....perhaps that's why the Open Sky heat doesn't affect me much.

Up to you, it's an awesome car, just decide on what you like! Press the dealer hard too...they will need to get rid of the 08s.

I think it depends if you plan on modding it in the future. For instance if you plan on getting coil overs and a new suspension anyway s-line is uncessary. I personally had no plans of upgrading the suspension after purchase so I went with an s-line. I know there are alot of differing opinions on open sky but I love it. Once you have a sun roof it is hard to have a car with out one, also everytime someone new sits in my back seat they comment about the second sun roof and how sweet it is. As far as cloth seats go I have never been in an audi with cloth seats so i dont know what they are like. Hope this helped and good luck with the decision
