Need new tires + advice

RE: Need new tires + advice
I have a new set of 225/40 18 Kumho MXs -- definitely more road feedback (stiffer) but not really any louder than stock Continentals. Though when cornering you can hear the humming of the wide contact patches near the sidewall. And because of the sidewalls, sketchy pavement while turning results in an increase in turbulence. But damn is it sticky! I drive LA freeways so depending where you from it can only get better. Lol.

I got some Fuzion ZRi's for cheap. Like 90 bucks a tire. I had heard nothing but good things of them so I decided to give em a chance. So far so good. Not as sticky as some of your 200 dollar summer tires but I also paid half the price. Definitely one of the best bang for your buck tires.

RE: Need new tires + advice
I have Toyo Proxes 4's and they are a huge improvment over the stock P6 crap tha came on the car. Shame on Audi for putting such craptacular tires on their car! Especially the s-line sport model!

Terrific - thanks for all the info... too much info really.
Chef - I have the exact same car. paint/tint/wheels/etc
God this car is great. but ya - time to go get the new tires before the one showing cords blows.
Thanks again

The best advice for you
The best advice, which nobody has given yet:
Find the tire / suspensionshop in your area where the real, old pros are. The shop that will have the latest equipment to balance your tires, but will ALSOCHECK THE BALANCE OF EACH TIRE BY HAND. The one that has been there for years and has pride in its work.
This is FAR more important than whether you get Toyo or Yoko. Plus, that shop will recommend the best tire for your needs, and you will KNOW they are giving you the best advice. This way you won't have to rely on random chatter that you saw on the Internet when you spend your hard earned $$.
If you're in Atlanta, the shop you would visit is Gran Turismo on Shallowford Rd. 770-455-0347.
Cheers,
Hukk
