New A3 2.0TDi, just got it
Just taken delivery of new A3 sport 2.0Tdi which seems a really nice car. I've a couple of questions for you:-
1. The CO2 emmissions quoted in the service book are 150 whilst in the brochures and on the Audi web site they are 153. This makes it a bit cheaper to licence in the UK but I'm puzzled as to this difference, does it vary vbetween individual cars?
2. Its on long life service which means it probably won't get an oil change for at least a year, maybe two. Is it worth getting an extra oil/filter change after 2-5000 miles just to be sure or should I just trust the Audi service recommendations?
3. Any one experience of chipping these little diesels, powers not bad, probably on a par with my old A4 1.8T, but you can never have too much?
PS anyone in the UK want a old A4 1.8T sport, 120,000 miles, with dodgy aircon but otherwise a cool car with big wheels? (I only want around £1,500!)

RE: New A3 2.0TDi, just got it
Congrats on the new TDI. I'm jealous, that's the engine I would prefer in my A3.
Not sure about your first question, but the oil change interval is fine and you won't need to worry about changing it early. It takes a long time to break in the TDI engine so for the first 5k miles vary your speeds, don't use the cruise control. You know what, there is a great site for the TDI. Log onto TDIclub.com and view their engine break-in procedures. There is also an abundant amount of info on chipping the 2.0TDI engine there. A lot of the people have them in VWs in the States, but there are members from all over Europe as well. I want to keep you as a member here, but that web-site will be of great value with information on your engine. Check it out.

Cheers Chef, The cruise control won't be a problem as in the UK that comes with the SE spec. The Sport spec that I bought doesn't have it. I couldn't really afford all the gizmoes but I already think it's a great car to drive. Never had a diesel before and I thought I'd miss the top-end rush of the petrol turbo but I was most impressed with the test drive when I drove it really hard (treating mine a bit more gently to start with!).

Okay,
I found the TDI break-in thread for you. Follow the directions and your motor will thank you for it, for a very very long time.
Cheers!
