NEW A3 already in the shop..i have a question
Hello ALL!
I am a new A3 (2007 DSG, Open Sky, premium package)owner and have a question for you all. After only 1179 miles, my car had to be taken from my house on a flat bed and has spent the last 4 days in the shop. The biggest issue was the fact that the car would barely even start and then once it did, it sounded like it was running on one cylinder...the second problem is the moonroof and the fact that every now and then it makes an incredibly annoying sound (closed). The dealership says that the reason my car wouldn't start properly was a 'relay' and they are still trying to determine why the moonroof makes the weird noise that it does, even though I haven't opened it!
So, I'm wondering if any of you have had the same 'relay' type of issue and also if you have had the moonroof issue and what the resolution was. Your help is much appreciated.
Have a great day all.

Relay...No.
Open Sky...Yes. There is a TSB that the dealer should have access to which describes that problem and solution. But, we all know that dealers can be pretty moronic at times.
Good luck, and I know what it's like being without your car for a while...[][:'(][:@][&:][][:@]

Towed away with the new dealer tags still on, now that's C-O-L-D! Don't be overly aggressive, but at the same time definitely stay on top of the dealership to keep you posted with what is happening with your car.

Hey there, what is a TSB? The dealership is saying that the seal was dirty...come on..

Sounds like the answer they gave you was just some lame excuse because they dont know what the real problem is.

Not quite the image of Richard Dawson that I had in mind, but I needed him quoting "Survey Says!" about this absurd alleged dirty seal problem. They need to research this problem with your car a bit more...
