Well, I made the decision to consider addinf a second A3 to our fleet. I had purchased an A4 Quattro in January, but I could never "bond" with it. We have a 2007 A3 Premium, and it is just more fun to drive than the A4. The A4 also had numerous interior rattles and I couldn't get comfortable in the seats.

So I went to my dealer this afternoon and drove a 2008 Black S-Line - what a difference from the A4. The dealer has let me take it home over the weekend to see if I really like it. My wife has driven it (the other A3 is hers) and her response is "get it."

It is very well equipped: S-Line Sport Package; Titanium Package; Sound Package; Open Sky System; Cold Weather System; Phone prep for Bluetooth; Convenience Package; Ipod Glovebox Interface; and Manual Rear Side Window Sunshades.

The sport seats are really comfortable, and I have not noticed much difference in the Sport Supension over the regular suspension. The tires are Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 Summer tires. They really handle well.

So, while I never thought we would be a 2 A3 family, it is likely we will be.

I would definitely choose the A3 over the A4 every time. Now the S4 is different, but the A3 has everything the A4 does, plus a huge fun factor. I could see having a duel A3 family if I didn't have 3 kids.

I had an A4 loaner for 4 days...what a MAJOR drag. Depressing how ordinary that car is.

BUT...should you wait for a 2009 A3?
