Default New wheels question

I am really interested in these Borbet Type XL wheels for my stock 2006 A3 3.2.

Here are the details:
Offset: 50mm
Recommended Tire size: 225/45-17
Size: 17x7.5
Bolt Pattern: 5-112

Tirerack.com selected them, so I'm sure they fit... but I have a few other questions. Are new wheels going to adversly affect the durabality of the suspension? Is it going to void my factory warranty on the suspension or other parts?

No

No

Now I have a question for you... Where is the screenshot of (the tirerack version of) your car with these wheels on it?

It wont let me post it on here! Go to tirerack.com and do it yourself.

About the centercaps on these Borbet wheels... I want my Audi OEM ones on there, will they fit or not?

Technically, if the wheels are heavier than stock, the dealer at least has a basis for claiming that the wheels would damage the suspension.

Okay, I found a picture of an A3 with these wheels... they are stunning!

I just ordered them off of Tirerack.com for 145 a wheel. I think its a damn good deal considering my two local stores had nothing that looked as good for the price.

I'll post pictures of my car when they're all done!

Oh yea, just double checking, these wheels WILL fit my car, right? I read somewhere that the offset had to be more than 42mm or so?

yes, ok, perfecto, da stuff. They'll sit 1/4" farther out than your stockers. You can usually rely on Tire Rack for good info.
