Default Newbie with problem

Hi all,
I have a Audi A3 1.8T Quattro on a 1999.
I have had the car 4 months and had no problems apart from getting use to driving around the turbo lag.
Recently the car has struggled to start and by this i mean the engine slow turning over and even having to bump it at times. Once bumped it runs fine.
I have just changed the battery and its firing up great but my problem now is loss of power and this has only been since i changed the battery yesterday.
The car is spluttery and wont seem to rev above 3500 when driving, if you sit on tick over and rev it it is very lummpy and spluttery and wont clear itself.
Any help would be appreciated or advice on what to check, I have checked all terminals are tight and had a look to make sure i have not knocked anything off when fitting the new battery.
Thanks Andy
