Oil Oil Everywhere
Hey everyone
Bear with me on this one. So on saturday - sun i drove from tampa to boston at each gas stop i was also checking my oil level by my third stop in lorton Virgina my oil had depleted by an entire .5 quart. But i shrugged it off and just topped it off with oil i got from my delaer in tampa. Later on sun morning when i was in RI i was down shifting to pass car when i got a flashing CEL light it flashed about 6 - 10 times then turned itself off. (comp glitch maybe) needless to say i got home with out any other incident. then today Tuesday i was driving back roads )about 20 miles worth) between two towns reasonably hard. when i got home i noticed a strong smell of oil coming from the engine bay. i looked and noticed on the right side of the engine that the entire side of the engine and the top of the Gear box was coated in oil and even a few little puddles on the top of the gear box. i then jacked the car up and the underside of the gear box as well was moist with oil. So i again checked the oil level but it had only decreased just slightly still well on the maximum mark. What do you think im dealing with?? Leaky seal? I cant figure it out im obviously going to have to take it to the dealer here, its about 600 miles shy of its 15k service. Im 90% sure the blinking CEL light was sjut a random backfire tricking the sensor becasue since then it ahsnt reappeared. Let me know what you think. how bad could this be?
Ps its a 07 2.0t DSG no mods
