Picked up an 2006 A3-2.0t sport!!!!
Hey fellas! newbie here! and not just on the forum new to audi! I have been a loyal BMW driver for the last 5 years. Just traded in my 99 e36 m3 for a 06 a3t sportback. I have been toying with the audi idea for several years (almost got an oo s4 instead of the beemer) now and finally made the jump over to audi. First impressions, this car has a world of potential.the handleing is nasty to say the least. just wanted to introduce myself. please bare with me on my ignorance as far as audi lingo goes, im sure i will get accustomed quickly. by the way i cant spell for ish despite multiple degrees lol. feel free to ask any questions about the car.
lets put it this way,
in my e36 m3 i had the suspension completly done incl: racing dynamics front and rear stut bars, sway bars front and rear, and a Ground Control Coil-overs and the a3 handles BETTER!!!!!!! and thats out of the gate bone stock (although i did get the sport package) alot of it im sure has to do with the front wheel drive, the new independent rear susp. set up witht he independant shock spring set up with mcpherson struts and of cource the weight factor. This car may honestly be the best handling stock car i have ever driven! it is insane, minimal if any body roll in aggresive cituations plus the car comes with power assist steering which helps distribute power while taking aggresive turns to help keep you well planted on the ground with minimal if any sqeeeling. Awesome! needs a bit more power on the low and high ends. middle of the band is nasty however. i got the 2.0t as opposed to the soon to arrive 3.2 255hp because of the mods and turbo upgrades that i know will be avail. and i wanted to keep some practicality with the gas prices these days.
