Default pirelli P6 to be replaced after 22000kms

I am new to this site, but have been reading it since purchase of my A3 2006.
I have a problem: My 4 Tires, original mount, Pirelli P6 four seasons, after only 22000 kms are dead. »I do mostly highway driving.
The dealer tell me it is quite NORMAL.
Any opinions, since I want to contest this.

Thanks to all

Jacky

define dead? as in no tread left?

I have Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres and I just rotated them. My fronts which are now on the back are almost done. Probably 4mm until they need to be repaced. I'm at 5000 miles right now and probably will have to replace mine at 15,000 miles.

Depending on how you drive you can cook a set pretty fast.

22000kms is kind of low, it's only 13670 miles. What country are you in? What speed do you usually drive at? I would think that a set of tires should last at least 15000 miles, even with fairly spritely driving (but no track use or autocrossing, of course).

I only got about 15000 miles out of mine and that was probably 2000 too many. The P6s are terrible tires; Audi should be ashamed for putting them on their cars.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. P6's are very poor tyres, poor wear and poor grip. For a little more you can get much better rubber.
