Default question on a3 aluminium trim

Hi all,

I have a 2006 a3, sport package.

That mean I have the aluminium trim, sadly the right trim next to the driverdoor is sratched a bit(previous owner)

I also like more the "brushed" look of the 2007....anyone know if it would be costly to change those trim? 4 door inserts+ shifter trim panel.

Thanks

I did a swap like that when I had my GLX Jetta went from wood to the R brushed aluminum. To do 4 doors and trim was about $250 for everything. So your probably going to be in that ball park. I have also thought about going with the brushed look then the almost checkered look of the 06. If you do do it let me know how it turns out.

I would think your best bet would be to see if somebodyhas already upgraded (several people went to the piano black), and to see if you can buy theirs.

Vagparts.com sells the piano black trim too...considerably cheaper than the aluminum trim. They have pics, but not installed. I think there might be a few people over on Fourtitude that may have pics of the piano black trim

Ultra high gloss Piano black interior trim kit for the A3 sportback 4 door. Piano black was the standard interior trim on the previous S3 model and is an excellent alternative to aluminium.
Our kit includes the following pieces:
All four door trims, front ashtray and gear shift surround.

that's funny. i thought the fish scale texture was pretty cool, tho I like my brushed alum also. The piano black, I'd be concerned about long term, like spider webbing or scratches.
