I want to learn how to do my own oil change, change spark plugs and light bulbs on my Audi A3 1.8TQ. Is there a web site with instructions on how to carry out such work?

maybe there is but i dont know, but I pretty much learnt how to do all that myself, its not that hard

Oil: Just jack the car up, get some sort of container for oil, put it under the screw of the oil pan, start unscrewing it slowly and the oil will leak out, when all oil has leaked out screw it back on and fill the car up with new oil.

light bulbs: open the hood, look at the light bulb from the back, it you will see how u can disconnect it, do that, take the light bulb out, put new one in.

spark plugs: take them out and put new ones in.

hehe... nice one.. take it out, unplug it, put it back in.... very useful ;-)

If anyone else can offer a little more indepth advice, I'd great appreciate it.. ahem... Surely, one needs to change the oil filters as well when doing an oil change?

Make sure you don't drain the transmission fluid when trying to change the oil. I think the oil plug is the one closer to the front end, can anyone confirm that? Also, its probably in the back of your owners manual under the do-it-yourself section.

Well i cant really explain it but i can do it. Oh yeah i was typing this up really fast so i forgot about the filter sorry. Also i know how it works on my A4, duno about A3 but i'm sure they are not much different.

With the light bulb its pretty obvious. Once u look at it you will see. There is this metal thing that kind of locks in and doesnt let the bulb come out. You cant take it off, u can unlock it. Umm i suck at communication

The Tranny fluid needs to be drained with it, yes it is the one closer to the front end.

LOL - I did this the first time I changed the oil in my A4. Embarrasing, but at 89K it was a good time to change the tranny oil anyway. Yeah the oil plug is near the front.
