I've just graduated from University in Glasgow. Got a job in oil, bought myself an A3 1.6 standard. '99 - 30k on the clock!!!! and immaculate condition - £4000.

I've wanted an old style A3for about 10 years and its my pride and joy. I've had some pretty crappy cars in the past (all bought and maintained by myself in relation to this thread) and i love my new one. Set of 17's and lowered a bit, it doesn't need anymore. Audi's are just class

Sorry if its a bit of a self-absorbed rant but i had to tell someone.

Mark

Congrats Mark on your A3 - out of school , my first car was a used Peugeot so you already are a step above! Did you get the 2door or 4door versions? Standard is the basic entry version, correct?

he must mean manual, no?

in some countries it's either automatic or standard.

Well, in most European countries Audi has different versions - for example, France has Ambition, Ambiance, and Sline which basically characterize the level of features of the car. Standard, if I recall correctly, is the 'basic' version in the UK but was not too certain. I am actually assuming it isa MT, although our British friends love automatics!
