Unhappy Significant electrical problems!

Hi all,

Earlier today noticed rear wiper didn't work, and then that the warning light for the boot being open was flashing/ checked it and it was closed ok/ must be faulty sensor.

then driving home to night, radio display went really bright and the window op lights the doors went off, a few miles later the rev and speed counter both dropped and passenger air bag waring came on for a few seconds, a few miles later, all dash lights went out and no indicators!!!! all came back on after switching off for a few minutes, but boot waring and rear wiper still off. i suspect this will be on going and an unpredictable orrurance....

no change in the car performance though and headlight thankfully remained on.

None of the fuses in the dash appear to need replacing either?

Anyone any ideas/ suggestions/ solutions?

cheers

Adrian

car is a 2005 A3 Sportback TDI/140 well cared for.

I am experiencing the same problem with the rear hatch and wiper. Thankfully I have not had any of the other issues you are having. I do have an issue with the left rear taillight though. The car seems to always think it is out. However, sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't.

The car is an 06 2.0T hatchback or what ever you want to call it.

If you could keep me posted on what you find out about the rear hatch that would be great. I plan on digging into mine tomorrow after my last final exam. If I figure it out I will be sure to post it here.

Lightbulb Solved!

Fixed it today. The problem is with the switch itself. Looks like a new one is around $70 w/o shipping. I took mine apart and I think I can fix it for free.
