Default Slight rattle in front dash area

Hello, is it normal to have a slight rattle in the front dash area when driving over cracks on the road? I just noticed today when I turn my music down. I have a 07 A3.

Definately not normal. I don't have a creak or rattle, just a whistle from the side view mirror, which I'm taking to the dealer to fix. I suggest you do the same.

Its normal. I used to get it when I was idling. Audi will fix it for you and they have a TSB on it as well. The noise comes from the fuel line area along the frame rail.

One more thing, is it also normal that the rear seats and maybe the trunk (empty) make some noise when driving? It is not audible if the stereo is on, but when its off and quiet, I can hear sounds coming from the back.

No squeeks or rattles should be considered mormal from a new car. They do happen and need to be fixed, but are not normal and should not be tolerated, especially from an Audi.

For the rear seat, try putting the arm rest in the down position.

Sorry, can you explain what you post again. I'm not sure what you are trying to ask.

I had a similar rattle in my 2006 A4. Like you, it was only audible when I turn the music down. Mine sounded like a gentle "click, click, click" sound coming from the near the speedometer. Brought it into the dealer and they removed and tightened the dash cover. After that the noise was gone, but has since returned.

What did your tech do to solve your rattle?
