I have 3 10" and a 1000w amp that came out of my old car and I really want to add just ONE 10" with a custom made box... but I am kinda worried about running wires through my new Audi.[&:] Has anyone else added a subwoofer? What were the results? Pics? Thanks

Thanks for the links John. Those guys went a bit farther than I am willing to go but those custom boxes did give me some ideas. I wonder how good those "shallow" subs sound...

 

When I had my 06 A3 I had one 12" Audiobahn in there. It was 1100 RMS and 2200 Max. It was powered by a Rockford Fosgate P8002 which was 800 RMS and 2400 Max. That thing sounded nice. When I went for my first and last oil change there the techs were sweatin it and had it bumpin in their garage haha. Its not crazy loud like how I have it in my car now, but it was still loud.

 

Wow a 12" with 1000w RMS is wayyyyyyy overkill I bet it took up a crapload of room too. I am thinkin about just getting a 400w RMS 8" or 10" put in. As a bassist... I need some more bottom end!

No, but it wasnt anything really special. It was a regular box, nothing custom. It did take up like a little less than half of my trunk, but the trunk was small and I dont think I ever even put anything in my trunk lol, but then again I only had it for about 6 weeks.

 

Wow I just noticed you crashed your A3... why did you turn to the darkside and then get an Acura TL??

 

When the accident happened I got a little shook up, as most people do, and bought the TL cause it was bigger and I thought that I wouldnt speed as much as I used to, but I went back to my normal driving about a month after. I also went with the TL because im more of a Show car guy and not a speed racer guy, and since im 18 I definitely want to hook up my car so I thought Id rather go with the 20s and a CAI ona TL, rather than going with racing rims and the fast look and chippingwith an A3. I still love the A3 though and would never think twice about going back to it if I had to, thats why every now and then I come on to the Audi forums and see whats going on.

takr out your spare tire
and install sub in there

 

I thought about that actually... but the thought of not having a spare doesnt sit well with me I will just take up the cargo space and have it installed with some kind of quick release so I can easily take it out if need be. Plus the seats fold down so I cant still throw something in there if need be.
