Default can GPS be added?

I have a 2008 A6 Avant which is a great car, but unfortunately was ordered w/o GPS. the car has the screen with the backup camera and sirius radio. has anyone retro-fitted GPS into one of these cars? can it be done and what is needed?
TIA

Others have reported price qoutes of approx. $2,500 to run it through the MMI. If you wanted GPS why did you buy a 2008 car without it?

You can hopefully take it to Audi and they can probably ADD GPS to the vehicle for a premium.

Just trade the car for one with NAV-GPS!

Yes, it can be added. See this link here for instructions:

Sorry, no idea the cost, but probably somewhere in the $2k range if I had to guess.

I picked up a certified 2006 A6. Cost of the hardware is about 1600 and the software is 200. At least the software (from Navteq) is the latest version. You need to decide that you really want/need an integrated solution. A re-furbished Garmin is a whole lot cheaper. Good luck.

It's as easy as going down to Sam's Club and buying a Garmin Nuvi 760. It works in the new Audi's and is even backwardly compatible to the older ones....and in non-Audi's too. And it's a bargain at about $300.

THANKS! this is close to what I'm looking for. mine is a 2008 (so maybe different from these instructions?) and also mine is a wagon. any idea where I could get the specific instructions (like these) for my car? also, what is my 'platform'? A6 what? same platform as '05/'06 or different?

The after markets will not work through the MMI.
