Thank you very much for the info. I'll pursue the loose fuel line you suggested with the dealer.

 

I have fought tire problems on my A8 in the 2.5 years I've owned the car. Original Perelli's began to make a noise that, at 15,000 miles, the dealer defined as tire feathering. Contacted Perelli, who wouldn't stand behind the tire. Alignmentt checked and found to be within specs. Tried rotating to lessen the noise, but it continued to worsen until finally I replaced them at 27,000 miles. New Michelins took care of the noise, but at 22,000 miles these too were shot. Audi recommended pressures of 33/30 were followed, wondering if this was the problem. Dealer now saying tire pressure should have been 44psi. Could problem also be with wheel, strut or alignment specs? Finally, should I look to 3rd replacement set and buy another type or size or speed rating tire that would get better wear?
