Default TDI vs. Gas

Am in the market for an A3.

Doe the higher cost of Diesel fuel negate the extra MPG?

Any preferences from those whom have lived with both?

I've had an A3 TDI for almost a year now and drive slightly more highway than city. My avg. MPG all around is 38-39 mpg. Even though Diesel is $ .30 - .40 more a gallon the difference far outweighs the cost of regular gas.

I get better all around #'s than many hybrids. Considering the gas A3 probably averages low 20's mpg all around and it takes premium, no contest. TDI hands down. Love the 2.0 gas but honestly like the TDI and don't know if I would get the gas version even if I didn't need the mileage. Hope this helps.
