Thinking of Leasing
i want to get rid of my 2005 subaru legacy (non turbo) limited edition with 40k miles. i want to lease an a3. what can you guys tell me about the a3 having driven it?
lots of maintenance problems? faster than the subaru (obviously)? how munch can i expect to pay monthly if i want to lease (im in jersey).

Welcome. Actually, I haven't experienced any maintenance problems with my A3. They are holding up much better than most VAG products of recent. I can't help you with lease payments, but you won't be able to do much modding if you lease the car. That would seal the deal for me right there, but this is a good car from the factory. It's just up to your preference at that point.
BTW, this car is faster than yours, but the build quality is SOOOO much better.

I am leasing mine ('07 2.0T)... and love it!!!
One thing to note when getting quotes for the lease it definitely may be worth it for them to include the AudiCare... I know a lot of people here say its not worth it, and it prob isn't when buying the car but as for my lease it increased the residual value of the car (basically because all services are gauranteed) which in turn lowered the price overall had I paid for the services seperately.
As for what you can expext to pay... its all in the downpayment! Just decide what you can afford, what you want to pay and then I would go to as many dealerships in the area as you can... but make sure you go price it out at atleast 2 for comparison!
