RE: whats your average mpg ?
My trip computer says 18 mpg.
I get about 270 miles per 14 gallons. Do that math, that equals 19.29 mpg.
Thats with the 2006 Audi A3 3.2
In my 1.9 Volvo S40, I get about 300 miles to 10 gallons... 30 mpg.
Quite a difference. The driving is always spirited as well

Like Chef said, your mileage does improve drastically after complete break in. With about 6300 miles on mine, I'm getting 22-23 in the city and 30-31 highway.
I take it we're all talking 2.0T here. I've got DSG, btw.

RE: whats your average mpg ?
I was averaging over 29 mpg combined usage, but since tire change to BS RE960AS, I3 Update . . . mpg been dropping steadily, currently at 28.639 with 32,451 miles. My last 2,250 miles only averaging 27 mpg, of course it is the heat of summer and alot of a/c usage. Same time frame 2006, 2,311 miles, I averaged 28.71 mpg. Average around 350 per tank, with a high of 397 (tank took 13.3 gallons). Also, I may be developing a terminal case of "Lead Footitis."
Update 09-06-07: It's amazing how much short-term memory loss that I have . . . hahaha. Phoenix's summer gas mix was MTBE and winter gas mix was Ethanol.MTBE has been deemed unhealthy and has been replaced year around with Ethanol. My mpg on previous cars was always worse with the winter blendcontaining Ethanol and it appears this trend is continuing with my A3, except now it will be worse year around.
Just got back from 2500 road trip . . . D'oh!!! Iaveraged 31.8 mpg, with a high of 36.3 mpg on aleg of the road trip from Cortez, CO to Steamboat Springs, CO totalling 448 miles. The low of 26.8 mpg for the trip was from thefirst tankof the trip, which was a Phoenix Ethanol mix.
With this trip, my overall mpg increased to 28.820, with 35,652 miles driven.
