Post Windshield wiper

I washed my car the other day and I couldn't lift the windshield wipers off of the glass to clean under them. It kept getting caught up on hood. Is there a trick to this?

It's in the manual: mine is downstairs or I'd look it up. Something about turning the key to on without starting, moving the switch somehow, and the wipers are put in a maintenance position.

Cool

Turn ingition to the on (but do not start), then back to off, and then flick the wiper stalk down. This will put the wipers in the park position (half way).

Thanks! I will try it tomorrow. I love the little quirks of the A3!

my question is where to buy windshield wipers that work for our cars? I bought a new set the other day and found out about the unique Audi attachment mechanism...

same problem here. Pep Boys and Krager both don't carry the audi size/attachment. I've read Bosch Icon's are best, but where do you buy them for the A3?

I checked the Bosch site and they have list of local dealers, probably have to order them tho. Also I see that Tire Rack sells the wipers for the front windshield but not the rear.

I was able to find a Trico model similar to the Bosch Icon for the driver's side (21" AFAIK) at a local auto parts store (Shuck's), but the passenger side (19") was not available with the necessary mounting. I'm not convinced that the Trico is as good as the Bosch, however.

Does VW use the same attachment? If so, then we can expect them to be more widely available eventually.
