Default Word of Advice... Don't use "VentFresh" Air Freshners

Just tryin to provide a little advice in not using the "vent" air freshners!

I went to replace mine today and it pulled my vent apart!!!
(Perhaps my car is trying to punish me as I promised I wouldn't smoke in the new car and broke down the other day... Yes all the windows were open and the air off... but I still felt the need to get an air freshner and when I went to remove it... I guess I got what I deserve!!)

Now I realize that technically speaking its not all that hard at all to piece this back together... but when 3 of the 4 pieces fly under the seat in that exact position you are unable to reach from the front or back with the seat all the way in one direction or another was what made putting this back together the real pain in the a$$!!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to share with everyone what brand of these not to use... See the pics below.

Word of advice DONT SMOKE

Easier said than done. Unfortunately, I just started smoking again after 8 months without so much as a single drag. Addiction is a b!+ch.

OP: Thanks for the heads up on those vent fresheners. I use an under the seat freshener that seems to work pretty well.

Indeed. Deciding to quit and actually breaking the addiction are two very different things!

The picture is fuzzy, did you totally break the vane, or did you just pull it out? You could always invest in a vent boost gauge and switch the driver's vent with the passenger's. You've already done some of the prep work in removing the vanes for the new gauge. Probably cheaper than getting a new vent from the dealer.

Cheers!

I'm 'old school' about my air freshener. If I do put one up I take the "Repo Man" route.
I'm hoping that I don't date myself too badly by bringing that up. But, I really like to say to people, when they do make a comment about it - "You find one in every car, kid, you'll see."
