$4000 Maintenance!
Ok, so I took my car for an oil change and fluid top-up yesterday at YBH Audi in West Chester PA. The service guy came back and told me my quattro is messed up, I got oil leaks all over, my maf is dead. I was in shock and had them go ahead with the repairs. Today I got a call back for something else that shouldn't be changed till 90K miles. My car was running fine, well to my assumption, it felt like it was fine and sounded fine. Should I stop the work so far and take it elsewhere for a second opinion?
Why would you tell them to just go ahead with something that serious without finding out more about it especially at that price and especially from a dealer. If it seemed to drive fine I'd have some serious questions if he thought it was that messed up. Your whole car is probably only worth a 2-4k more than what they quoted you. Having the work stopped could be hard especially if they already did/got into the expensive stuff.
I think it would be pretty hard to mess up quattro and not notice it since it's pretty simple and all mechanical.
Hopefully you don't get screwed. Good luck.

If you car can run, you should always bring it in somewhere for a second opinion... just don't tell the second shop what the first shop told you. Also, I would absolutely never get any work done on my car at an Audi dealership, unless it was under warranty.
