First question(s) i would ask are:

[ul][*]ever been in an accident?[*]can you provide a CarFax report?[*]has the timing belt and water pump been replaced? (required service at around 90,000 miles $$$)[*]seeing that it's a turbo: has the turbo been (or need) replaced?[*]any problems with the clutch? ever been (or need) replaced?[/ul]

With it only having 64k miles on it, i wouldn't think the belt and pump have been replaced, but you may get lucky. This will no doubt need to bedone down the road, and you can expect it to costaround $1,200-$1,400 if the dealer does it. It may cost moreif they come back and tell you stuff like, "your cam tensioner seals need replaced" (common), etc.Much less if you handle the repairs yourself (obviously).

Those should get you started. Welcome to the A4 family.

Yeah, it's tough finding exactly the type of car you want in your local area.

I see you're in Annapolis. Mt.Airy on this end. Howdy neighbor.

if you end up buying it, you might want to look into ditching the tail lights[:'(]

Yeah, I know what you mean. Mines not black, but I had to drive over 200 miles to New York City to get mine (it was a good deal, responsible owner, etc.)

Make sure to ask what the aftermarket mods are and post them on here. It could easily have an aftermarket turbo, seeing that it has a FMIC. Also, if you get it, definitely ditch the tail lights.

Good luck and welcome to the forums!!

not sure if I like that rear spoiler - looks universal. For $7k it better have an upgraded turbo - I bought mine a year and a half ago and only paid $5300, Granted mine had a bit more milage(double) but its still a 98.

Have him send you some better high res photo's and get some more info on the mod list. make sure that everything(wheels, FMIC, etc) is included and he's not parting it out and returning it to stock before you get it.
