a 95 A4??? You must be in Europe, cuz there was no '95 A4 over here in North America.
In any case, it is said the fluid is a lifetime fluid, but I was told by an audi tech that anywhere between 100K to 150K miles is a good time to have it done.
Doing it yourself is a PITA because the fill hole is underneath the car and you need a fluid pump to get it in there. There are other more stringent requirements also.
Cost me like $125 to get mine done at a VW dealer once time.

Yeah you don't want to put in anything higher than a 55watt halogen bulb, anything higher and you run the risk of melting your housing. I have a 55 watt xenon setup with phillips ds2 bulbs and hella ballasts. Puts out a much better light quality than halogen can. I picked up my kit off of Ebay for 188 bucks new.
