well at least your username matches your car

but it depends on what kind of car you are looking for, if you are looking for an econobox that will run for a long time then stick with the civic, if you want decent performance with refinement then go with audi

first things first...

MAKE SURE THE TIMEBELT/TENSIONER IS CHANGED! Its a $800-$1000 job, depending where you get it done. Audi's cost a lot more to maintain that Civics, but the ride is sooo much better. Is it manual or tiptronic?

I bought my 98.5 1.8t with about 50K on it. So far I have had a few things go including the turbo. Wheel bearings have a tendency to go at around 75-80K miles; watch out for the dreaded control arm squeak...

But in the end, if you enjoy your car every time you drive it, all that stufif doesn't really matter. Just make sure you like the car you are going to buy. If your gut says "its not for you" thenlisten to that or you will be second guessing yourself just like you are now doing with the Civic.

I'd wait, for 16 or 17k you can get an A4 with muchfewer miles. Plus, you don't want a car that was chipped, that means the driver likes speed and aggressive driving.

Yeah, I;m just chekcing around at used car sites, and that 16,991 is way high for a car with 78k mi on it. I see 1999 2.8 quattro with 48k for $16,995
