Headlight washers (at least on my 98.5) only work when the following conditions are met:</P>
1. You hold back the washer stalk for 2 seconds or more.</P>
2. Your headlights are on.</P>
3. The temperature is below 42 deg Fahrenheit.</P>
The washers are for clearing the snow off your lights - not for cleaning them.</P>

in reply to fixing the headlight washers. i too pulled them up and down and noticed a suction noise,and the pump is leaking where the fluid flows from the windshield reserve to the headlight reserve. how much does it cost from audi for a new pump, and how hard is itt o fix? can u email me ur instructions?
