well APR just came out with a new thing where they just reprogram your stock chip and you can switch between programs with cruise control buttons. i dont know if they can detect it or not though
well - normally they can;t detect a chip unless they open up the ecu box and see a new chip in there.</P>
However there is a code that can be thrown [Max Speed Limit Exceeded] which will tell them that your speed governor is no longer working - something that an aftermarket chip removes. But you would have to hit around 140 mph for that.</P>
Any time you chip you are taking a chance. I am chipped, but out of warranty so have no worries about that. I think I would still chip even if I had a new car though. Lots of people are chipped under warranty. Just be warned, that there's always the possibility that you could get screwed by Audi for doing so.</P>
