Default Oil / tranny fluid?

Dude - don't feel bad - I am guilty of doing that exact same thing. I drained the tranny by mistake and had double the oil in there after adding engine oil. The tip oil is mineral based oil - so it looks like oil but not like the engine oil. Mine had a slight yellow tinge to it.

DO NOT RUN THE CAR WITH SO MUCH OIL!!!! You will bust all your seals from the pressure and you will get oil leaks everywhere. Not to mention you are driving with no transmission fluid and grinding the crap out of your gears. Don't even start the car. Have it flatbedded to a dealer - tell them what you did. How did you get to the dealer in the first place, though? The car should not run if you have no tranny fluid - it should rev but not move. You need tranny fluid to keep pressure on the gearing.

Any dealer that says you are ok is totally incompetent. I took mine to a VW dealer (was no audi where I was at the time) and they put in thetranny fluid for about 200 bucks. There is a special procedure you need to go through if you do it yourself, and the tiptronic oil is not the typical tranny oil. Email me if you want to know it - but I would not suggest doing it yourself.

cheers
