ouch! Hope you didn't do any major damage. You may need a dealer or someone with a VAG-Com to clear the code so the light goes out.

], My Check oil light comes on and off just today. Although I just changed the oil and I rechecked the oil level it seems fine. And the car drives great. I had it towed to the dealer to be safe, the dealer told me that he initially has not seen the light come on. I told him it came on after around 30 mins of driving. I told him to VAG-Com it to be very sure. Can the Vag-com easily identify what the problem is?I am prayin its just a minor problem[&o]
All depends what the oil light that came on was. If it was the red oil light, then you may have sludge and oil pressure problems. They should be able to check the oil pressure to make sure the pickup screen isn't clogged
it was the red oil light that comes on and off. my car is a 2000 1.8t with only 32,000 kms on it. I just got it from the dealer last march. do you think a car that has run only this much could already have sludge problems?
Unlikely, but not impossible.
Have him check the oil pressure. If you are driving and the oil light comes on, or a blinking red oil light comes on, turn off the engine immediately. Blinking red oil light means dangerously low oil pressure. Alternatively, it could be a bad sensor, but don't risk it.
