So I am getting more and more interested in the audi a4. So some questions:</div>
<div> </div>
<div> </div>
<div>What is the best year to get the a4? Like are any years more prone to certain problems?</div><font color="blue">best year would be a 99.5 or newer</font>
<div> </div>
<div>Are there any major issues with the a4? Like the eclipse/talon had CRANKWALK...anything like that?</div>
<div><font color="blue">not realy..just a lot of complaining about control arms</font></div>
<div>What are some really nice things about the car taht YOU love, compared to ur other cars in the past?</div><font color="blue">everything works in the car..prev car was a rusting 88 jeep</font>
<div> </div>
<div>What is the performance market like with a4s? Alot of parts available? Expensive stuff? Like can you buy bigger turbos, and Manual boost controllers and high performance turbo parts?</div><font color="blue">lots of stuff for the turbo cars all part are expensive... www.goapr.com www.pes-tuning.com</font>
<div> </div>
<div>Are these things capable of running mid 13's easily?</div><font color="blue">yes, if you have the cash</font>
<div> </div>
<div>I heard that since they are german cars, they are expensive to fix?</div><font color="blue">you are right on this one</font>
<div> </div>
<div>Are these reliable?</div><font color="blue">yes mine has been</font>
<div> </div>
<div>I think thats it for now..just telll me everything you know! Thanks guys!</div>

Labor can bge anywhere from $75 to $125/hour at an Audi dealer. Thats not cheap.
The headunit on the A4 cannot be changed easily. The connections are all propriatary from Blaupunkt. Also it depends on the audio system you get. The premium Bose system makes it tougher to replace anything at all (incl speakers). I am doing it though - so if you need answers I will probably have them before the new year.

There are no RCA outputs on the headunit, and the entire system is run on crappy 2ohms instead of the normal 3ohms. You would need to do some rewiring (you'd need a pinout diagram from somewhere) to send the signal to the sub amp.
I know people have done it, and if you are determined you could find out how to do it.

i still have my stock deck but i do have 2 amps hooked up to it one for the sub and one for the front/rear deck speakers. the only prob with installing an after market deck it that there are no kits for the newer dub din units it it all has to be custom done. the main reason i havent upgraded my deck yet is that on my last car my 1 week old jvc(spent 350+instal) got riped out<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley6.gif border="0"> .
I think for the Symphony deck you can get an adapter that adds RCA outs to the headunit - is that what you used hb972?? The adapter doesnt exist for the Concert radio though I do believe.
