Default ABS Light

Just started having the same problem.....diagnostic code told garage that it's a problem b/w ABS unit and instr. panel. Might be circuit board problem--mucho $$$$. Hoping the problem goes away---it came out of nowhere. Anyone else have insight into this problem and poss. solution?....

Not the ABS-specific circuit board, but theinstrument clustercircuit board--the diagnostic said "Open circuit in wiring b/w instrument cluster and ABS hydraulic control unit, terminal 10" "Malfunction in instrument cluster". Corrective action was "Locate and repair open circuit in wiring" & "Check instrument cluster combination processor". Any help?

Yep--That's exactly what mine does. In fact, it's been off for two days and last night, about 20 miles into a 21 mile trip, it came on again--no rhyme or reason.

Sometimes it comes off and on, sometimes stays off. Shop said it could either be a bad connection or a going-bad board. I'm thinking more likely a going-bad board, as there was no event that precipitated the start of the problem--just cruising along last week, and it went off. Hope it's not the instrument panel circuit board--they tell me it's expensive ($500+) and lots of labor to install. Let me know what you find--thanks. John
