Ok, I just bought an 98 1.8t and i was testing out the car at a stoplight on the highway on its 0-60 time. I got 0-60 in 15 seconds... I really think thats a bad time for my 1.8t. Can anyone tell me what was their time for a 0-60 in a stock 1.8t (150 hp)? Could there be something wrong with my turbo cause I really can feel it kick in and my friend says that its supposed to have a whistling noise when it kicks in.... thanks for any help -ray

 

you should hear the turbo at around 2krpm's. (with your windows open) i think 15 seconds is a little out of range. i have the 170hp version and i can notice when the turbo kicks in at about 1700-2000rpm and the noise(woosh) gets louder as the Rpm's climb. how many miles on your car?

What do you think it could be then? I dont know why it accelarates so slow... i see the RPMs fly but the speedometer just crawls along to 60... [&:]

maybe your turbo is already in heaven.

 

do you have a boost gauge?? maybe a leak....15 seconds is super slow.
