This seems quite a bit slower than what I thought the car SHOULD run....anyone got any ideas why im so slow? its not a lack of driving skills, cause its tip so all you have to do is preload and mash the gas. I was thinking perhaps a bad diverter causing a boost leak? PerHAPS? any way to know?

 

an 18.2 quarter is slower than a school bus, it could be a number of things, spark plugs, fuel pump, a broken hose, clogged filter? it your car running abnormal?

 

it runs really smooth believe it or not. Thats why i was thinking boost leak maybe?

 

it could deff. be a turbo leak, or your turbo went out on ya. how many miles on your car? do you notice the sound of your turbo spool when you drive?

 

yeah i hear it spooling, and I can hear the DV when I let off too. There are 50,xxx

 

hmm, you have 50k miles on it, and the turbo and dv seem to be okay.... maybe your Cat. converter is bad? what year is your car? quattro? FWD?

 

if you read the title its an 02 a4 1.8t quattro tiptronic

 

lets see, 3650 pounds and only 170hp isnt a forumla for speed to begin wit
and also u cant launch start like a stick so that also why u can get a lower time
but stock B6s wit 6speeds do 16.5-17 secs
so u doin 18 wit a tiptronic seems rite

I think im taking the car back tomorrow anyway, i only bought it 2 weeks ago, and tonight i found upon getting ready to install a boost gauge, there is a nasty oil leak I was unaware of when i purchased the car,I have also had to put coolant in it twice, and replace a PCV valve that was 27.50.

 

18.2 on a stock tip 1.8 is normal. thats why i bought a 2.8 sorry i couldnt hold back lol....

but a 1.8tm WITH some mods is a different story.
