02 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro
well im pretty sure all HID's are xenons. Xenon is the gas used in HID bulbs. since i do not have the stock Xenon headlights i had to buy a conversion kit, which consists of a ballast, ignitor, and bulb. BUT if you have the stock Xenon headlights then all you would need to do is buy an HID bulb and swap it in. make sure if you have stock xenons are not before you do anything else.

In case I'm wrong, is buying the conversion kits and bulbs off ebay safe?
If you bought HIDs off ebay before let me know the seller's name so I know I'm not getting jipped
i wasnt telling you that you didnt have HID's. the B6 A4 came with two different headlights. one was a halogen projector headlamp and one was a xenon projector headlamp, which was available through a certain package. my car didnt come with the lighting package so therefore i did not have xenons stock, i had to buy a conversion kit. I bought my kit through a group buy on a different forum. if you have stock Xenons then you already have HID's but you said you want 8000k so you would only have to change the bulbs.
lol...this thread is too funny.
Congrats on the car... always glad to see another 3.0 on the scene. All HIDs are xenon. If your lights look white like a flourescent bulb they're HID. If you have stock HIDs or not is the real question here. Most likely if you have auto lights, you have the lighting package which gives you HIDs. If the lights move up and down when you first turn on the car at night you have stock HIDs. My opinion leave them alone... Stock HIDs are 4300k andwill be brighter and cleaner looking than 8000K which are going to look bluish purple. (Incase you didnt know stock means how the car comes from the factory)

for north america b5 is 96-01, b6 is 02-05, b7 is 06-08, b8 is 09+
you have a b6. read my newbie guide for mods and other stuff- https://www.audiforums.com/m_700266/tm.htm the one's you listed sound good except for the angel eyes. they belong on bmw's, get some ecodes. and just so you know, there's very little you can do to add performance except a supercharger for the 3.0.

ok so I deffinately have HIDs because I remember thinking to myself "y do my headlights move after I turn them on?" I'll try to post up pics...
Ok so now that I know I actually HAVE HIDs I did a little research and found out that I have D2S bulbs to be exact... Can I use the same bulbs on my fog lights? or do I have to buy a conversion kit for it?

yeah that's what I think too..another thing..I feel like I'm always starting out of 2nd.. don't like using 1st gear..it's seams very short & it's easier to just start off using 2nd...does that harm the tranny...I hear it's not good to do so
