I am going to be purchasing an Audi A4 quattro in the next few weeks, still undecided on the 1.8 vs the 3.0. I am wondering if there were any significant changes made between the 03 and 04 years on either of these models that might effect my decision. This is my 1st Audi, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Cant think of anything major. For the most part they are just about identical.

 

04 comes with painted lowers and some other insignificant changes
i think the 04 has a better center cup holder

 

Doesn't the 04 also have a 6 shift gearbox? Or is that the ultrasport?

Just remember-

Whatever you pick, just remember to have it serviced regularly (e.g. All big service pkgs and oil chnges every 3-5K)

 

Ultra Sports have 6 spd, pretty sure anything under it has 5
