Ok so I have a 03 A4 that wont start/ crank, it also thinks its overheating...(could they be related? 
) When I set the key to the on position all the gear lights are lit on the dash, PRND... and in reverse I have no reverse lights. So I beleave the neutral saftey switch is bad, which tell me that the car has no clue what position the shifter is in and therefore why it wont crank. ( not knowing its in Park, Or Neutral) so I jumped the starter in which I have crank, but no start with the key in the on position of course, I have checked both the fuel lines, there is good fuel preassure, and my plugs have good spark, I am confused, I dont have any way to scan the codes, and I cant get a non running vehicle to autozone or advanced to get it scanned, anyone have any thoughts or Ideas, on a side note all the fuses and relays seem good, and I have a strong connection to a good fully charged battery.
