Default 03 bose radio issue

Heres the rundown...2003 a4 1.8t quattro sport package w/ cold weather xenons.
I have the bose system as well. When its cold or cool outside the radio gets static. doesn't matter what the source, cd, integrated ipod, fm, tape, am. static is there until cars interior gets warm. starts around 50 degree F. gets worse as it gets colder. today it was about 10 degrees and radio did produce any sounds but static the entire drive to work (20 minutes or so) just static. If its a little warmer, 30's or so, static is there but i can still here the music as well. seems the colder it is, the more prevalent the static until it gets to the point where the music doesn't come through at all. Any help is appreciated!

Hey I have same car and year and had some radio problems as well.

Here is some online troubleshooting:

If the static is at a constant audio level, it might be an amp problem

If the static level can be adjusted, then it might be a problem with the head unit or a bad potentiometer.

Try checking all connection points and cables if you can. I don't live that cold of a climate so I don't have any experience with those conditions.

Hope this gives you a place to start.

Prost!

Was gonna mention the tint.. could cold air affect the metal in the tint? Didnt someone have similar problems to this and we blamed the over tint on the back window for the screwy reception
