Default '06 new or a CPO '02

OK guyz... and galz. I finally made it up and test drove an '06 A4 2.0T 6-speed..... and OMFG!!!!

This engine is amazing! Way more usable power than the stock 1.8T and better MPG! The new 6Speed is increadible, I must have blinded all the other people on the road with the glare from my teeth! I got down to brass tacks with the dealership, (which was GREAT to deal with BTW) and got my payment decent..... but I still have a dilema.

Cost-wise I can get into an '06 2.0T 6sp. for the same monthly as a pre-owned '02 or '03 1.8T 5sp. Of course I'm paying longer (about 2 yrs) on the new, but you get lower interest, better mileage, less depreciation, maintenance, and warranty (which a CPO does have...)

I just wanted to pose the question to you guys and see what you say. I love both cars, but I love saving some green too!

I got the local dealer's last 05.5 2.0T QM a couple weeks ago... Honestly, I couldn't imagine not having this car. All I want to do is drive it!

Go for the new metal. I don't think you'll regret it.

Quartz05.... you are absolutely right! I picked up my '06 today!!!! OMG, this car is incredible, and the engine..... the more I drive, the more I want to drive! I was chasing my brother in his '01 Dinan 330Ci on I485 and keeping up just fine! Starting on upgrades soon....... tint, spoiler, APR ECU, front lip, door flares... this bug is gonna kill me!

Get the CPO!! ...so I don't feel as jealous [8D]

I would probably take the new one if it had all the options you want and same payments only longer. I wish I could afford a new one, but I'm very happy with what I have

Man, it must suck being able to afford a new car...NOT! Haha. Those new 2.0's are sick, I took a peek at one while trying to find a used A4 a few weeks ago. Have fun with it!

Thanks guyz! I will definately keep everyone up to date... I keep reading and learning about this car. Did you know the B7 has the B6-S4 brakes (and boy do they work), as well as rain sensors that control the brakes and keep them "dry" by applying 1bar of pressure every 380sec or so above 43mph.... God bless the Germans!

OK, I can say this... after 6 days, and 500 miles... You would have to kill me to remove this car

Also, having a new car (new body) can have it's disadvantages. For example, looking for mods like intakes, 3rd party body parts (spoilers, etc) are next to impossible to find YET. I'm going with the OEM Vortex spoiler (can't decide about the small pieces on the sides) and the Vortex front spoilers, as well as some tint and an APR Stage 1 program after the 5k breakin...... I'll show everyone some pics as soon as it is done.

Fortunately I don't have to worry about finding aftermarket bolt-on plastic - my new A4 was just sitting there on the lot with the full-blown dealer-installed body kit already on it. I asked the guy on delivery day how that happened, but he didn't have an explanation. My guess is that somebody else ordered the car and then walked away. Silly them, go me.
