Default 1.8 vs 2.8

hey there guys... well here is the thing. I'm looking towards buying an audi a4, but i don't know which is model would be better for upgrades 1.8 or 2.8... the year im getting the car is either 99 or 00, so wut suggestions would u guys give me???

The 1.8t is better for modding, and go with the 99 because it isnt drive by wire like 00's and newer and is more mod friendly. Or you could get a 98 or newer 2.8 and supercharge it.

if you search there is a huge amount of info,
the 1.8 is a lot easier to mod, you can get 60 more hp out of it with just chip and exhaust and a new diverter valve, if you want to mod go with the 1.8, the only good option for the 2.8 is the PES supercharger

dude if i had a 30v, i already would have lol, those things put down some nice numbers and a fat curve

No they don't. 260whp give or take, yea the torque is basically flatline instead of a curve but still, for 5+ grand I'd expect more. Plus the type of supercharger PES uses suffers from MAJOR heat soak with no aftermarket intercooler. It would be better off just starting with an S4 IMO...Anyways back to the original question, read this

get a 1.8t with my mods i raced my firend in a 99 2.8 a4 and i got about a carlength threw first and half of second his car has full exhaust and drop in k&n filter and i alos have a about 200 pounds of stereo **** in the bac
