First off you are not gonna find a motor for 2k, or 3k even. You will need the entire motor, all hardware, all wiring, ecu, new ic xover. motor mount thinger, it doesnt sound like you would install this so plan probably 3-4k for install, and maybe after you have just spent the 6-8k you will have a running bone stock 1.8t

The more I think about it, the more ridiculous this is. NOTHING would be the same in the engine bay between the V6 and the 1.8T. You would basically need the entire front clip full of engine from a 1.8T, and odds are not in your favor that there would be one close to you. If you want a 1.8T, get a complete car with a 1.8T in it.

ok u guys dont have get all pissed lol just a question. when i bought the car it was all i could afford and really didnt plan on do anything to me car in the first place, so it seem like a reasonable choice. i made this post cause i truely could not find anything on a 1.8t swap in into a 2.8 on the forum, when i made this post i was not seriously considering doing it, i was just wondering. plus it would take me about half a year- a year to save up the money and by that time i would probably not want a 1.8t in general, + by that time i will probably want to spent the money i have saved on a motorcycle for going fast, and saving gas!

No one's angry. You might be a little angry. We answered your question. Don't take these ultimatums like "If you want a 1.8T, buy a 1.8T car" as personal attacks.

Believe it or not, this question has been asked before. Maybe even more than once.
