I am new to the forum and am considering getting either a later model quattro 1.8t(2004-2005) or 2.0T(2005.5 or later) with tiptronic transmission(I know, this is for my wife what can I say, she doesn't like shifting). I am planning to do some mods to the car like chip, intake and/or exhaust. I am very interested in hearing how much difference is between the two engine as far as stock and ability to do minor mods. I am not too greedy but hope to be able to get up to 250 hp without reliability issues. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

 

if u want to do light tuning and see great numbers go for the 2.0T

 

About the only mod I can find to the engine is the chip. How much gain can be had for chipping the 2.0T? Is there much difference between the 2 different blocks? Turbos? Transmissions?

215hp/245lb-ft for the 1.8T
and
241hp/292lb-ft for the 2.0T

thats a big difference in HP and in TQ
