one of the first things i want done is a chip....

BUT, i dont have any GIAC dealers around me, and cant risk the downtime of sending my ECU off...

what are my options w/ this?

well the downtime can be as little as two days or some will send you a chipped ECU and when you receive it you send your stock one out

Are you sure?
I thought they send you the chipped ECU after they receive yours.

===========================

In any event, the only alternative is to buy another ECU that is chipped. There are tuners tht will sell the entire package to you - at an additional cost of course. This way you have your stock ECU and an additional chipped ECU. You can then safely swap out the chipped ECU for the stock whenever you go to the dealer. No one will ever be the wiser and you can have peace of mind.

im in Concord, NC

well, it looks like im not gonna get to do much modification on this car... none according to my dad, but thats what he said w/ my truck and that got alot done to it.

id be fine w/ just a boost guage and chip...

the boost guage i can say is for maintenance, which he might go for, if the pod matches my interior... and he wont know if i do the chip.... the other things i wanted, were window tinting, and a stereo system, which i can deal without both... i had a list of what i wanted and i really dont care to get any of it besides the chip and guage...
